Executive Director Volunteering for Golden Crescent Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a great way to help abused children in our communities. We are looking for volunteers who have a desire to help children, an understanding that there are many ways to raise families, and a dedication to complete our training. Our volunteers work closely with CASA Case Supervisors to ask questions of everyone involved in the life of a child abuse victim. We ask questions of everyone, doctors, lawyers, schools, therapists, parents, foster parents, and extended families –to get the child abuse victim the help they need and to get them into a permanent nurturing home. Our volunteers are the voice of the child abuse victim and the eyes and ears of the court. As is often the case, foster families change, lawyers change, therapists change, and schools change but the CASA volunteer remains the same. Today we serve over 300 children in our service area, but there are more waiting for a CASA volunteer. If you can, volunteer with us and help become the link to a brighter tomorrow for today’s abused child! Tim Hornback |
